I love music, always have done since school.
Especially as you can just listen to some music to calm yourself down, chill (like when I draw occasionally, like what I am doing in the pic for this post) or help yourself focus on something (recently, it’s helped when I have been to the gym).

I’ve been looking at my “On Repeat” list on Spotify and it has got so many songs that have come from an anime or a Japanese artist, which I have been binging the past few months.
As you may remember, at the start of the year I decided to binge a lot of anime and manga, a lot of the anime have really catchy opening songs that I can’t help but love,
MY most popular song of the year, has to be Idol by Yoasobi, a J-pop band that has produced songs for Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury & Oshi No Ko. Something about this song for Oshi No Ko, is so god damn catchy that I have got 3 different versions of the same song on the On Repeat playlist, it’s original japanese version (shown above), their english version of the song and then a cover by Amalee.
It hasn’t been just this year I have been listening to music influenced by anime/japanese culture, I have been like this for many years.
Going back as far as I remember, the songs from Final Fantasy 8 from the late 90s have always been on my playlist.
Last year with the release of One Piece Film Red (got a blog post talking about One Piece here), a film all about music, of course I loved the soundtrack to it and helped me get into the music by the J-pop artist Ado.
I have always loved a huge variety of music, despite what I said above, the influence of anime/Japanese culture hasn’t taken over my music tastes completely, such as, I will always love artists like Avril Lavigne (been loving her music since middle school), Foo Fighters and Kaiser Chiefs to name a few.
