Anime Round-up Episode 5

Hello to this week’s post that involves the Yakuza, mum and her son in another world, dukes and so much more!

I start of the post by talking about a series that I missed last week called Honobono Log, 10 minis 2-minute anime episodes.

Some of us are fortunate enough to have a partner to confide in on our bad days. In even the most devastating times, we can depend on our comrades for support. Others are incredibly lucky to have a special someone that they can just randomly embrace. No matter the situation, there always tends to be a close ally to help us get by.

Honobono Log showcases the best and worst of couples and families, enticing romantic-comedy lovers with various relatable situations.

Yes, you can watch this whole thing in under 20 minutes, I will put the whole thing above

I just loved the animation and got the song Morning by Ame_No_Parade on my Spotify while I am writing this up.

Watch the the whole 20 minutes and tell me what you think via the comments below!

I came across The Yakuza Guide to Babysitting by random chance and I got to say, I am thankful for those odds as it’s really good, funny and some cute scenes mixed in.

Tooru Kirishima’s notoriety is spread far and wide in the underworld. He is most commonly known as “The Demon of Sakuragi”—a man who is not afraid to resort to violence if deemed necessary. After almost jeopardizing a peace treaty, his boss tasks him with the most difficult job he has ever had: taking care of seven-year-old Yaeka Sakuragi—the boss’ precious daughter—so that Tooru understands what it means to be responsible for another life.

At first, the two do not seem to meet eye to eye, as Tooru has no clue on how to communicate with Yaeka, and the young girl is not used to expressing her emotions. However, as time goes on, they come to understand each other despite their differences. The fearsome right-hand man of a yakuza boss and the child he must protect are about to learn that family is not always bound by blood.

I can’t really think of anything bad to say as everything was great especially the characters.

Downside is that there hasn’t been a season 2 been announced so I might end up turning to the manga, you love me, I love my manga!

I’ve got the point I have found one of those anime with a long name, in this case it is Do You Love Your Mom and Her Two-Hit Multi-Target Attacks? and it has been a joy to watch.

Forming a party with one’s mother in an online game seems not only unlikely but also uncomfortable to most teenage gamers.

Unfortunately, Masato Oosuki finds himself in that exact scenario. After completing a seemingly meaningless survey, he is thrown into the world of a fantasy MMORPG—and his mother Mamako actually tagged along with him! On top of all of that, Mamako turns out to be an overpowered swordswoman, possessing the power of two-hit multi-target attacks! After minor tension between the two, they search for party members, meeting the merchant Porta and the sage Wise, starting their journey to clear the game.

I’ve seen the image of the mum for quite some time (she’s in the thumbnail for this post) and been meaning to watch it, I love my mum as she helped raise me and my brother up since my teen years and a series about a boy suck in an online game with his mum just caught my attention.

Typical anime that with the mom having big muscles (yes..lets go with muscles to describe them) the show will show the mom in pretty suggestive poses like “oh the boss melted by clothes off”, doesn’t help that the mom is stronger than the son in this world.

I suppose in the real world, mums are often stronger than their children when they are angry (as I rub the bruise my mum gave me after annoying her last).

In short, this series is about how strong a mothers love is, but I don’t recommend it to watch it with your mum though.

Wednesday came back around as it does every week, bringing a new episode of My Happy Marriage via Netflix

With it being the second episode, it provides us with the opening for the series which I love and got the song my spotify already!

This started off episode 2 strong, this continuned with the introduction of spirits that only certain people can see and a military unit that combats against them ran by Kiyoka Kudou who is Miyo Saimori (main character, who aparently can’t see spirits) new potiential husband introduced at the end of episode 1.

After years of Miyo being treated like dirt from her own “family” , shes sheds tears after getting a compliment from Kiyoka, who is curious on why someone from a high end family that Miyo came from is wearing worn out clothes, not used to eating with people and more.

I am very much looking forward to next week on how things develop in the next episode!

I was going through random anime recommendations and Super Cub came up.

Koguma, a reserved second-year high school student, has nothing—no parents, hobbies, friends, or goals. On her way home one afternoon, she visits a vehicle shop in hopes of acquiring a motor scooter. With only enough money to make ends meet, she is disheartened by the price tags and prepares to turn back. However, as she is about to leave, the shop’s owner offers her a pre-owned Honda Super Cub for ten thousand yen. Believing that the motorcycle will help brighten her monotonous world, she accepts the deal. As Koguma journeys through her town on small adventures with her Super Cub, she begins to build irreplaceable friendships and eagerly advances toward her new life.

This series will so cheer you up if you are feeling down, the description above should be enough to get you interested as she forms some great new friendships with girls all because of her cub.

I say don’t do a drinking game eg take a shot when you hear the word cub as you would have died many times over, as you will hear it a lot in a show about Super Cubs.

I’m not a bike person whatever but I can say the love they put into the series shows, the animation can be a bit grey at times which could be an artistic choice(?) but I won’t hold my love for the series back as the story and the attention (as the video i put in above, it kind of comes across as an advert for the bike but if that’s what it had to take, i’m ok with it) they put in makes up for it.

I can’t end talk about the series without talking about the song for the intro, I like it, not sure if it will be on repeat on my spotify but you never know.

It’s been quite sometime since I watched an gender bending anime, last one being Life with an Ordinary Guy Who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout and Cheeky Angel (it say its one but without going into spoilers, its not if you have seen the ending) so searched up recent ones and Ayakashi Triangle came up.

In short it’s a series about a ninja kid who hunts evil spirits and gets turned into a girl, its like Ranma and Naruto had a series together. I love gender bending series and this series is currently ongoing which is great!

I will hold off talking much about it til next week as I’ve got one more current series to chat about…

Wait before that, just found out that this anime won’t have any new episodes for a few weeks, yikes!

Anyway, The Duke of Death and his maid provided us with a brand new episode that I loved as always!

This week’s episode had the Duke and Alice play some golf inside the mansion, let’s say it got interesting especially when it involves the Dukes younger brother dressed up as a maid and shows some good scenes from the two witches Cuff and Zain (shown above) who are helping out in a Circus not trying to be found out

The episode ends with the Duke getting teased with a way of breaking his curse (he kills anything he touches) by one of the head witches which involves Cain, one of their witch friends but more about that next time!

I think that’s it for this week, thanks for reading!

  1. With super cub, it is artistic. It supposed to show the dull, lifeless, monotonous life Koguma led. You might have noticed, once she gets her super cub, her life gets a little bit more colour in them. I enjoyed super cub and watching Koguma starting to enjoy life little by little.
