Oh hello everyone, it’s been awhile since I’ve talked about anime on this blog and with it coming up to the end of 2023, I thought no better time to talk about the anime I’ve been watching the past few months that I can’t help but talk about!

Let’s start off with Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury as it’s the series I first talked about via the anime round-up posts (click the tags at the bottom of the post to get what I am talking about) as I was lucky to catch the series when the first 2nd and final series was airing and I loved it.
I confess I loved the final episode even though it was a tad rushed. I do love with the ending that Bandai have had to make very clear that the two main characters didn’t get married despite the obvious signs, like really Bandai?
I’ve been a fan of Gundam for the past few years, mainly following the UC timeline (the original series, zeta, double zeta, char’s counterattack, unicorn & Hathaway) and with this series being it’s own thing, how could I say no?
I managed to binge the first season just before season 2 was just about to air so it was non-stop hype for me taking in the great story, twists, characters and of course the action with the gundams!

The Duke of Death & His Maid was another series that I binged the first season and didn’t have to wait long for season 2 that finished recently with season 3 being announced.
The best way I can describe this series to people is if Tim Burton directed an anime, it’s very Gothic with it’s themes and story, heck the story involves death & magic in a Victorian like setting!
The Duke aka the main character aka the one in the middle of the poster above was cursed when he was a child, anything he touches dies. Thankfully the duke has got a maid who cares awful lot for him along with some witches to help break his curse.
I obviously have to say that Alice is my favourite character in the show on how she teases the duke ha ha

The final show that kept me hooked throughout the year was My Happy Marriage that I had the joy of watching on the big TV via Netflix.
This series involves a girl called Miyo who is stuck in an awful family life after her mother getting an arranged marriage and dies shortly after so the dad re-marries and she just ends up being the family servant.
A chance of a good life seems hopeless til Miyo finds out that she will be marrying Kiyoka Kudou who is known to have dismissed previous fiances.
With Miyo thinking her misery will continue with Kudou, she is surprised when he treats with the love and kindness that she deserves.
This story goes a lot into abuse and becoming your own person again.
Compared to the other series mentioned above, this one hits the feels more due to how this ordeal is still a thing nowadays in the real world.
I think that covers all 3 series that kept me hooked, I am excited for more The Duke of Death and His Maid and My Happy Marriage content in 2024!
