This week features a big black cat, the duke continuing to look for a cure for his curse and more!
I am not an animal lover whatsoever but I head to check out The Masterful Cat Is Depressed again today
When Saku took in a stray black cat, she never expected that he would become the equivalent of a housekeeping life partner. But Yukichi, a giant cat who towers over Saku, is not your ordinary feline. He takes great pride in his culinary skills, and a good sale at the supermarket always gets his whiskers twitching. Saku may not have her act together yet, but at least she has Yukichi!

I think i saw this via a Youtube recommendation short and decided to give it a watch and I haven’t been disappointed so far.
It’s a slice of life anime with some supernatural work going on I’m guessing as cats aren’t normally this big, obviously!
Can’t talk about a new anime without talking about the animation which is a mixture of cgi and standard anime animation, loving the voice acting and loving the opening too!
I am a huge sucker for slice of life and this show has been lovely to watch, I have watched the first two episodes and looking forward to what the next one will bring!
From one slice of life, to another, I watched Sweetness & Lightning!
Since the death of his wife, Kouhei Inuzuka has been caring for his young daughter Tsumugi to the best of his abilities. However, with his lack of culinary knowledge and his busy job as a teacher, he is left relying on ready-made meals from convenience stores to feed the little girl. Frustrated at his own incapability to provide a fresh, nutritious meal for his daughter, Kouhei takes up an offer from his student, Kotori Iida, to come have dinner at her family’s restaurant. But on their very first visit, the father and daughter discover that the restaurant is often closed due to Kotori’s mother being away for work and that Kotori often eats alone. After much pleading from his pupil, Kouhei decides to continue to go to the restaurant with Tsumugi to cook and share delicious homemade food with Kotori.
Amaama to Inazuma follows the heartwarming story of a caring father trying his hardest to make his adorable little daughter happy, while exploring the meanings and values behind cooking, family, and the warm meals at home that are often taken for granted.

Thank goodness there isn’t a romance between a student and teacher, otherwise it would ruin this wholesome anime.
This honestly reminded me of my mum raising me and my brother on cheap food & anything very easy to make etc when I was in college (I didn’t have a job then) and she did her best with what we had. I still love my mum now for what she did, but don’t tell her that as I know she won’t read this post.
Yet another good & catchy opening, of course it’s adorable too!
It is a series I would recommend to someone who hasn’t watched anime before and you are with family as there isn’t any weird cliches in the show.
Wednesday has came around yet again to bring us a new episode of My Happy Marriage on Netflix!
The main character of the series Miyo, has her first date with her potential fiance Kiyoka Kudou or as she calls him, Lord Kudou.
Miyo gets her make-up done for the first time, this scene made me emotional because of her upbringing so far that she hasn’t any makeup or really any good items to keep apart from her mothers comb.
Kudou treats her to some new kimonos to wear as she only possesses one good one, the rest are tattered and who can’t resist something sweet while shopping.
There is supernatural stuff happening in the story and certain high end families such as the Kudous and the one Miyo got traded away from possess some form of magical abilities. This week’s episode continues to give information about Miyo’s deceased mother whose abilities were higher than anyone elses and wonders why Miyo doesn’t have any, maybe a late bloomer? We will have to see.
This series has been fun to watch every Wednesday so far, I am excited to see what next bring will bring and it’s going to be goo because I’ve got next week off!

Via MyAnimeList I found another anime about a single parent called Usagi drop/Bunny Drop and god it got my emotions going!
Daikichi Kawachi is a 30-year-old bachelor working a respectable job but otherwise wandering aimlessly through life. When his grandfather suddenly passes away, he returns to the family home to pay his respects. Upon arriving at the house, he meets a mysterious young girl named Rin who, to Daikichi’s astonishment, is his grandfather’s illegitimate daughter!
The shy and unapproachable girl is deemed an embarrassment to the family, and finds herself ostracized by her father’s relatives, all of them refusing to take care of her in the wake of his death. Daikichi, angered by their coldness toward Rin, announces that he will take her in—despite the fact that he is a young, single man with no prior childcare experience.
Usagi Drop is the story of Daikichi’s journey through fatherhood as he raises Rin with his gentle and affectionate nature, as well as an exploration of the warmth and interdependence that are at the heart of a happy, close-knit family.

I think this is possibly more wholesome than Sweetness and Lightning as it tugged on my emotions a fair bit more.
I even have to say that the opening was more wholesome soon, god why am I getting so sappy here?!
I have watched all the episodes of the anime, I was going to switch to the manga which continues from where the anime ends BUT decided I will do a book review in the future on the 9 book series (it says that but confuses me as there is 10 volumes).

Episode 3 of The Duke of Death & His Maid season 2 continues the two looking for the cure for the Dukes curse, which in this episode involved a Octopus witch.
OK, this is the first time I’ve seen an octopus lady, not sure how to react to her but just say her design is cute!
Anyway, the octopus witch wasn’t able to get rid of the Dukes curse but gave more information about the head witch having a sister which confirmed something that most of you theorized.
This is where I would be finish the post but it has been One Piece week!
I confess I haven’t watched the anime for a few months, I need to get back to it because Luffy Gear 5 transformation is going to be happening in the anime on August 6th, oh this is going to break the internet as when it was revealed in the manga!
Something that will happen at the end of August is the One Piece live action via Netflix, I am super excited for it!
I have been looking forward to this for ages as I’ve been tracking all the news and I know how much love people behind the scenes have put into the series.
I have noticed in the trailer that there has been some slight changes to the story but as there are only 8 episodes (for now) so I can see why and honestly don’t mind.
So yeah, August is going to be One Piece month for sure!
